So Much….
-an overland adventure in Idaho
By Michael Holland
“Yeah, I think this area is a little quieter than the Henry’s Fork,” relayed Brian over the handheld radio.
I replied, “I agree, we really haven’t seen anyone out here!”
Just hours earlier, Brian and I rendezvoused in Pocatello, Idaho. At a local fly fishing shop, we planned our two-week Idaho adventure. We each had a few places in mind and both were eager to explore the “Potato State.” Brian suggested the Henry’s Fork area, on the western side of Idaho, while I suggested something a more remote. So many options. We mutually agreed on the remote destination and headed northwest out of Pocatello.
Hands down, Idaho is my favorite place to explore and adventure during the summer months. It is a land comprised of endless backcountry roads, massive national forests and wilderness areas, superb fly fishing waters, and countless natural hot springs. Yep, Idaho is a land for the adventurer in mind. Idaho offers much more than potatoes.
